Yoga can offer more than flexibility and relaxation. Paying attention to your breathing, movement and sensations may also help you feel more at ease with your body and more present with a partner.

A regular yoga practice gives you space to notice your breath and physical sensations. This awareness may help you recognise tension, slow down and communicate what feels comfortable when you are close to a partner.

Developing strength and a comfortable range of movement can make it easier to enjoy different positions, while relaxation can help you be more present. These are individual experiences, rather than promised improvements in sexual performance. Consent, communication and mutual comfort remain central to intimacy.

If you have pain, pelvic floor symptoms or persistent concerns about sexual wellbeing, seek appropriate professional advice. Strengthening exercises are not the right choice for every pelvic floor concern.
