Yoga for people over 60 with high blood pressure combines movement, attention to breathing, and rest. Choose your level of effort individually, taking your health into account.
This 15-minute class includes “Dynamic Stretch for the Front Line of the Body”, “Cat Stretch Pose” and “Bridge Pose with Hands Clasped”. In Bridge Pose, pay attention to how your feet support you and to the position of your pelvis and back. The class ends with time to rest lying down.
Discuss the class with your doctor, including any inverted poses and breathing techniques in the routine. Continue your prescribed treatment and do not use the class to lower blood pressure during a significant spike.
