Yoga for people over 60 with high blood pressure combines movement, attention to breathing, and rest. Choose your level of effort individually, taking your health into account.
In this 25-minute class, you'll practice “Pelvic Floor Strengthening and Stretching”, “Diamond Pose with Arms Raised” and “Downward-Facing Cat Pose”. During the pelvic floor exercises, notice how your muscles contract and relax. You'll finish by lying down to rest.
Discuss the class with your doctor, including any inverted poses and breathing techniques in the routine. Continue your prescribed treatment and do not use the class to lower blood pressure during a significant spike.
