Yoga for people over 60 with high blood pressure combines movement, attention to breathing, and rest. Choose your level of effort individually, taking your health into account.
This 20-minute class includes “Cat Pose with Foot Grip”, “Cat Stretch Pose” and “Bridge Pose with Hands Clasped”. In Bridge, pay attention to how your feet support you and to the position of your pelvis and back. You'll finish by lying down to rest.
Discuss the class with your doctor, including any inverted poses and breathing techniques in the routine. Continue your prescribed treatment and do not use the class to lower blood pressure during a significant spike.
