Yoga for people over 60 with high blood pressure combines movement, attention to breathing, and rest. Choose your level of effort individually, taking your health into account.
In this half-hour class, you'll try “Pelvic Floor Strengthening and Stretching”, “Diamond Pose with Arms Raised”, and “Cat Pose with Foot Grip”. During the pelvic floor exercises, notice how your muscles tighten and relax. You'll lie down to rest at the end of the class.
Discuss the class with your doctor, including any inverted poses and breathing techniques in the routine. Continue your prescribed treatment and do not use the class to lower blood pressure during a significant spike.
