Yoga to release muscle tension combines movements and stretches for different parts of the body. Paying attention to how you feel can help you notice habitual tension and find more comfortable ways to move.
Exercises in this 25-minute class include “Reclining Upward Arm Stretch”, “Bridge Pose” and “Cat Stretch Pose”. In Bridge Pose, pay attention to how your feet support you and to the position of your pelvis and back. Towards the end of the class, you'll practice the breathing technique “Alternate Nostril Breathing Pranayama”. You'll finish with a rest lying down.
Don't force a stretch in a painful area. If you feel pain or excessive tension, reduce your range of motion.
