Yoga for football players complements training on the pitch with leg stretches and hip mobility exercises. Hip mobility matters for a long stride, changes of direction and drawing your leg back to kick the ball. You'll practice lunges and forward bends, stretch your thigh muscles and engage your core.
In this 25-minute class, you'll try “Pelvic Floor Strengthening and Stretching”, “Half Pigeon Pose” and “Reclining Leg Stretch”. During the pelvic floor exercises, notice how your muscles contract and relax. You'll finish by lying down to rest.
After an intense game, choose your level of effort according to how you feel and avoid forcing stretches in sore muscles. After an injury, choose a recovery program tailored to your needs.
