Yoga for hyperkyphosis combines exercises for the back and shoulder muscles with work on upper-back mobility. Strengthening poses and stretches help you focus on posture and how you use your torso.
This 30-minute class includes “Upward-Facing Dog”, “Arm Strengthening in Cat Pose” and “Cat Stretch Pose”. You'll finish by lying down to rest.
Discuss the program with a healthcare professional, taking into account the cause of the changes in your spine. Don't try to force your back straight: choose the depth of each pose and any support to suit your individual needs.
