Yoga for hyperkyphosis combines exercises for the back and shoulder muscles with work on upper-back mobility. Strengthening poses and stretches help you focus on posture and how you use your torso.
In this 45-minute class, you'll practice “Equestrian Pose on Tiptoes with Arms Raised”, “Revolved One-Armed Makara Pose” and “Cobra Pose”. The class ends with time to rest lying down.
Discuss the program with a healthcare professional, taking into account the cause of the changes in your spine. Don't try to force your back straight: choose the depth of each pose and any support to suit your individual needs.
