Yoga for the shoulders and shoulder blades combines arm movements, stretches and strengthening poses. You'll focus on your shoulders and upper back, paying attention to posture, mobility and how you distribute your weight.
In this 20-minute class, you'll practice “Twisted Arm Stretch Lying on the Stomach”, “Bridge Pose with Hands Clasped”, and “Shoulder Stand”. In Bridge, keep your feet firmly grounded and pay attention to the position of your hips and back. You'll lie down to rest at the end of the class.
Do not force your shoulders up toward your ears or push through joint pain to increase your range of motion. In weight-bearing poses and backbends, choose a variation that lets you stay steady.
