Yoga for the shoulders and shoulder blades combines arm movements, stretches and strengthening poses. You'll focus on your shoulders and upper back, paying attention to posture, mobility and how you distribute your weight.
In this 30-minute class, you'll try “Standing Full-Body Stretch”, “Twisted Arm Stretch Lying on the Stomach” and “Bridge Pose with Hands Clasped”. In Bridge Pose, pay attention to how your feet support you and to the position of your pelvis and back. The class ends with time to rest lying down.
Do not force your shoulders up toward your ears or push through joint pain to increase your range of motion. In weight-bearing poses and backbends, choose a variation that lets you stay steady.
