Yoga for snowboarders complements your training with exercises for leg strength, balance and torso mobility. On a snowboard, you need to shift your weight between your legs and stay steady through turns. Squats, torso rotations and balancing poses give you a chance to work on these movements on the mat.
Your 20-minute class includes “Deep Side Squat with One Leg Extended”, “Dynamic Revolved Chair”, and “Supported Warrior 3 Pose”. In Warrior III, you'll balance on one leg and pay attention to your hip alignment. You'll lie down to rest at the end of the class.
In squats and balancing poses, pay attention to your feet, knees, and how you distribute your weight. Before snowboarding, choose a level of effort that leaves your legs fresh.
