Yoga for snowboarders complements your training with exercises for leg strength, balance and torso mobility. On a snowboard, you need to shift your weight between your legs and stay steady through turns. Squats, torso rotations and balancing poses give you a chance to work on these movements on the mat.
In this 25-minute class, you'll practice “Standing One-Legged Half Moon Kriya”, “Dynamic Revolved Chair” and “Supported Warrior 3 Pose”. In Warrior III, you'll balance on one leg and pay attention to the position of your pelvis. The class ends with time to rest lying down.
In squats and balancing poses, pay attention to your feet, knees, and how you distribute your weight. Before snowboarding, choose a level of effort that leaves your legs fresh.
