Yoga for snowboarders complements your training with exercises for leg strength, balance and torso mobility. On a snowboard, you need to shift your weight between your legs and stay steady through turns. Squats, torso rotations and balancing poses give you a chance to work on these movements on the mat.
In this 45-minute class, you'll try “Goddess Kali Pose”, “Supported Warrior 3 Pose”, and “Standing Hand-to-Big-Toe Pose with a Strap and the Leg Forward”. In Warrior III, you'll balance on one leg and pay attention to your hip alignment. You'll lie down to rest at the end of the class.
Try the 45-minute class alongside your regular sports training.
In squats and balancing poses, pay attention to your feet, knees, and how you distribute your weight. Before snowboarding, choose a level of effort that leaves your legs fresh.
