Yoga for the lower back combines strengthening exercises with stretches and movements of the pelvis and legs. You'll focus on the muscles involved in lower back movement.
In this 25-minute class, you'll try “Deep Low Lunge”, “Seated Forward Bend” and “Dynamic Cat”. In the seated forward bend, you'll feel a stretch along the backs of your legs. Fold forward smoothly, without jerking. You'll finish by lying down to rest.
Postpone the class if you have acute pain. If you have a spinal condition, a herniated disc or a disc protrusion, check the exercises with a qualified healthcare professional. During practice, stay within a pain-free range of motion.
