The series of lessons "Yoga in the Lying Position" was created to help relieve tension after a workday and is especially suitable for evening practice.
In the evening, there is often not enough energy to perform standing poses, balances, or strength asanas, which is why it is best to start with relaxing asanas.
First, the back and lower back— the most stressed parts of the body during the day— are relaxed.
Then, the muscles and joints of the legs are stretched and relaxed. After gentle stretching and twisting exercises while lying on your back, simple yet important asanas are introduced to strengthen the abs, back muscles, and legs.
As the lesson duration increases, seated poses, stretches for the legs and spine, twists, and exercises to improve joint and ligament mobility and flexibility are added, along with inverted poses.
This form of practice and its sequence give the body a feeling of lightness and freshness; in a literal sense, it helps the body rest and recover.
