Yoga after running combines leg movements and stretches with rest after your run. Hip mobility is important for moving your legs freely forward and back with each stride. Adjust your lunges, forward bends and stretches to how tired you feel after running.
Exercises in this 25-minute class include “Pigeon Pose 1”, “Reclining Two-Hand Leg Hold Pose” and “Reclining Wide-Angle Pose with Leg Grip”. In Pigeon Pose, find a comfortable position for your pelvis and make sure you feel no pain in your knee. You'll finish with a rest lying down.
Choose the depth of your stretches and the class length based on the distance you've run and how you feel afterward. Don't stretch tired muscles through pain.
