Yoga for skiers combines exercises for leg strength, balance, and core stability. Gliding involves shifting your weight and keeping your body balanced over your skis, so controlling your hips and torso matters. Squats, lunges, and single-leg balancing movements let you work on these skills on the mat.
In this 20-minute class, you'll try “Low Side-to-Side Weight-Shift Kriya”, “Warrior 3 Pose”, and “Toe Balance Pose”. In Warrior III, you'll balance on one leg and pay attention to your hip alignment. You'll lie down to rest at the end of the class.
Use a support in balancing poses if it helps you stay steady. Take your ski training into account and ease off if you're very tired.
