Yoga for tennis players combines exercises for shoulder and torso mobility, leg strength and balance. On court, you need to rotate your torso freely during shots and stay steady when changing direction. Arm movements, twists, stretches and strengthening poses complement your tennis training.
In this 30-minute class, you'll try “Dynamic Revolved Warrior 2”, “Equestrian Pose Twist with Forward Bend”, and “Supported Warrior 3 Pose”. In Warrior III, you'll balance on one leg and pay attention to your hip alignment. You'll lie down to rest at the end of the class.
Give both sides equal attention and ease off if your shoulder is tired. Schedule longer classes separately from a match or an intense training session.
