Yoga for tennis players combines exercises for shoulder and torso mobility, leg strength and balance. On court, you need to rotate your torso freely during shots and stay steady when changing direction. Arm movements, twists, stretches and strengthening poses complement your tennis training.
Your 60-minute class includes “Supported Warrior 3 Pose”, “Dynamic Twist in Seated Forward Bend”, and “Twisted Arm Stretch Lying on the Stomach”. In Warrior III, you'll balance on one leg and pay attention to your hip alignment. You'll lie down to rest at the end of the class.
Choose the hour-long class when you'd like a change from your usual training routine.
Give both sides equal attention and ease off if your shoulder is tired. Schedule longer classes separately from a match or an intense training session.
