Yoga for tennis players combines exercises for shoulder and torso mobility, leg strength and balance. On court, you need to rotate your torso freely during shots and stay steady when changing direction. Arm movements, twists, stretches and strengthening poses complement your tennis training.
In this 90-minute class, you'll practice “Kriya: Standing Forward Bend – Plank”, “Warrior 3 Pose” and “Seated Side Twist with Arm Raised”. In Warrior III, you'll balance on one leg and pay attention to the position of your pelvis. The class ends with time to rest lying down.
Choose the 90-minute class on a day when that level of effort feels manageable and fits with your other training.
Give both sides equal attention and ease off if your shoulder is tired. Schedule longer classes separately from a match or an intense training session.
