Place your left hand on your thigh. Stretch as far as is comfortable. Avoid pain. Straighten your left leg, and press your foot firmly to the floor. Breathe evenly. Keep your balance with your back straightened. Breathe calmly and evenly. Then slowly bend your right leg and bring it back down to the floor. Return to mountain pose. Repeat on the other leg. If you are having a hard time balancing on one foot, stand next to a wall, and place one hand on the wall for support. As you continue to practice this pose, try and gradually move away from the wall as you feel comfortable.
