Yoga for ADHD combines movement and steady poses, giving you a specific task to focus on. You'll pay attention to your body position, muscle activity and breathing as you make physical activity part of your routine.
In this 45-minute class, you'll try “Warrior 3 Pose”, “Three-Legged Downward-Facing Dog”, and “Plow Pose”. In Warrior III, you'll balance on one leg and pay attention to your hip alignment. Near the end, you'll practice the breathing exercise “Alternate Nostril Breathing Pranayama”. You'll lie down to rest at the end of the class.
During the class, try to focus on simple things: your movements, how your body is grounded, and your breathing.
Choose a short class and take breaks if needed. Discuss ADHD diagnosis and support with a qualified professional.
