Yoga for hip mobility combines movements of the joints with stretches for the leg muscles. Strengthening poses and stretches help you focus on keeping your hips stable and controlling your range of motion.
In this hour-and-a-half class, you'll try “Extended Hand-to-Big-Toe Pose with the Leg to the Side”, “Downward-Facing Dog with Legs Interlaced” and “Standing Forward Bend with Bent Leg Raised”. You'll finish with a rest lying down.
On a free day, you can try a longer class if you're already used to 90 minutes of practice.
In seated poses and lunges, don't press on your knees to deepen the position. Use support if it helps you stay steady and avoid unnecessary strain in your lower back.
