Yoga for cyclists combines exercises for hip mobility, leg flexibility and core strength. A stable core is important for a comfortable riding position, while mobile hip joints allow your legs to move as you pedal. Strengthening poses alternate with stretches for your legs and back.
In this 90-minute class, you'll practice “Standing One-Legged Pose with Knee to Chest”, “Closed Warrior Pose” and “Upward Plank Pose”. The class ends with time to rest lying down.
Choose the 90-minute class on a day when that level of effort feels manageable and fits with your other training.
Adjust the effort to the length and intensity of your rides. Do not stretch tired muscles through pain, and let how you feel guide you rather than the depth of the pose shown in the video.
