The longer yoga practice for running is designed as a separate class between runs. Strengthening poses, mobility exercises and stretches focus on leg strength, hip mobility and core stability. When you run, your core muscles help hold your body in position, while mobile hips let your legs move freely.
You'll explore “Warrior 2 Pose with Thigh Support”, “Dynamic Tiptoe Movement with Legs Wide Apart”, and “Dynamic Leg Movement in Downward-Facing Dog” in this 60-minute class. Warrior poses let you work on leg strength and core stability. You'll lie down to rest at the end of the class.
You can do the one-hour class separately from your run, as a practice in its own right.
Choose your level of effort with your running training in mind. If your legs are tired, ease off or rest.
