Yoga for golfers complements golf training with exercises for torso mobility and stability. Your torso rotates during the backswing and as you strike the ball, while your legs help you stay steady. Strengthening poses for the back, legs and abdomen are combined with mobility exercises.
In this 90-minute class, you'll practice “Supported Warrior 3 Pose”, “Revolved Warrior 2 Pose” and “Dynamic Cat”. In Warrior III, you'll balance on one leg and pay attention to the position of your pelvis. Toward the end, you'll practice the breathing exercise “Alternate Nostril Breathing Pranayama”. You'll finish by lying down to rest.
Choose the 90-minute class on a day when that level of effort feels manageable and fits with your other training.
Perform twists and bends on both sides without sudden movements or excessive strain in your lower back. Choose your level of effort with your training on the course in mind.
